DMCA Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
TeraClip respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. This page explains how to report copyright infringement and how we handle takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. Our position on copyrighted content
TeraClip processes only content that users upload directly, and our Terms of Service require every user to confirm that they own or have the rights to any video they upload. Uploaded content and generated clips are private to the uploading account — TeraClip does not publish or publicly host user content. Nevertheless, if you believe your copyrighted work has been uploaded to and processed by TeraClip without authorization, you can request its removal as described below.
2. Designated copyright agent
Send DMCA notices to our designated copyright agent at dmca@teraclip.example with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice".
3. Filing a takedown notice
For your notice to be valid under the DMCA, it must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered).
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material with enough detail for us to locate it (for example, the account email, video title, or clip details you are aware of).
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing.
4. What happens after we receive a notice
- We review the notice for completeness and may ask you for clarification.
- If the notice is valid, we promptly remove or disable access to the identified material, including any clips generated from it.
- We notify the user who uploaded the material and provide them a copy of the notice.
- We document the notice for our records.
5. Counter-notification
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to dmca@teraclip.example including:
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which TeraClip may be found).
- Your physical or electronic signature.
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. Unless they notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the removed material.
6. Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We may also suspend or terminate accounts after a single incident of clear, willful infringement.
